Catering assistant - Perkins Engines

Key Responsibilities - Food Service - Assist with the preparation, portioning and presentation of food items. - Serve customers politely and efficiently, maintaining portion control and service standards. - Set up, replenish and clear service counters throughout service periods. - Customer Experience - Provide friendly, professional customer service. - Respond to customer queries and requests promptly. - Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming service environment. - Operational Support - Assist with basic food preparation under supervision. - Support the smooth running of break times, meal periods, hospitality events and ad‑hoc service requirements. - Follow all operational procedures, including allergen management and labelling. - Cleaning & Hygiene - Carry out daily cleaning tasks in kitchen, service and dining areas. - Wash up equipment, utensils and crockery using manual or mechanical methods. - Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and adhere to uniform requirements. - Health, Safety & Compliance - Follow all food safety, HACCP and hygiene procedures. - Report hazards, maintenance issues or incidents immediately. - Comply with company policies, including health & safety, safeguarding (if applicable), and confidentiality. Skills & Attributes - Positive, customer‑focused attitude. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. - Good communication and teamwork skills. - Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions. - Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided).
