Senior DevOps Engineer

Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerate delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, tolls that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD etc. all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps. Key Responsibilities - Extensive experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation - Communication: Able to speak to stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation - Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team. - Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly. - 5+ Years as a DevOps Engineer - Strong knowledge in AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance - Practical experience using Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm Required: AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm Good to have: GitLab CI/CD, Bash scripting, ArgoCD, Java (Spring), Kafka, Liquibase - Extensive experience of cloud computing, and best practices/emerging technologies - Experienced with multiple eco-system databases, architecture and integration - Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance. - Kubernetes & Helm: Strong understanding of container orchestration with Kubernetes and package management using Helm. - Cloud Services (AWS): Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of tools like Terraform. Nice to have: - Gitlab and GitOps: Understanding of GitOps principles. - CI/CD: Proficiency in setting up and maintaining pipelines, particularly with Jenkins. - Database Management: Experience with schema change management (e.g., Liquibase). - ArgoCD - Java (Spring) - Kafka Essentials - Must have willingness to travel - Must have the right to work in the UK - Must be able to attain a UK Security Clearance
