The Role:
Reporting into the Senior Content Strategist - Sport, the Junior Content Strategist - Sport will support the ideation, development and delivery of content across the Sports Direct ecosystem.
Guided by the Sports Direct brand voice and strategy, you will will assist in creating and curating content across categories, including running, football and training. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career to develop their skills in sport content, storytelling and digital publishing.
Supporting the delivery of the content calendar, you will help maintain the content roadmap, contribute to brand voice and visual tone of voice consistency, and ensure messaging is aligned across campaigns and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of the always-on content calendar, assisting from ideation through to delivery.
- Help maintain consistency in brand voice across all content and platforms.
- Write and curate editorial content for Sports Direct blog platform, guided by insights, commercial priorities and SEO/GEO best practices.
- Interview athletes, experts and talent.
- Adapt and format content for different channels, including CRM, paid media, retail, social and web.
- Support editing and proofreading of copy for brand partners to ensure quality and alignment.
- Contribute ideas and copy to campaigns, supporting wider brand and media strategies.
- Help manage and update editorial calendars, ensuring deadlines are tracked and met.
- Edit and brief writers - both internal and external.
- Collaborate with the Content Manager and wider teams to support content amplification across the brand ecosystem.

- Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone across different brand voices.
- Good attention to detail across both copy and visual storytelling.
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Creative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute ideas.
- Collaborative and proactive, with a positive attitude and eagerness to develop.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills.
- Understanding of SEO principles and interest in digital content trends (including AI).
- Culturally aware with a passion for sport.
- Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to learn how they support content creation.
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience with CMS platforms or digital publishing tools.
- Previous experience within Sport
