A CS&A Engineer is required to support the delivery of the CS&A elements of the project, in collaboration with other stakeholders and engineering disciplines. The role will involve the following, among others:
š§ General all-round civil and structural design experience required, with experience working on new nuclear build and interfaces with existing structures preferred.
šļø Experience is also required in the design of concrete, steel and masonry structures, subject to normal and abnormal environmental loading, including seismic assessments (preferred).
š Supporting the delivery of the CS&A design deliverables (e.g. designs, assessments, drawings, and reports), checking and approving the output.
ā¢ļø Experienced in delivering work within the nuclear industry (preferred).
š The person should be either a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer, or at minimum an Incorporated Engineer.
š¤ This role requires interface with Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering), other project functions and must work closely throughout project phases. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and on-site visits.
š Essential Qualifications:
š Degree qualified CS&A Engineer (or equivalent through enhanced experience)
š ļø Essential Experience:
ā³ A minimum of three years working within a highly regulated industry
š§° Familiar with a range of available design technologies and techniques
š Production of CS&A design documents, e.g. civil and structural calculations (design/assessment/substantiation), engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work, method statements
šļø Proficient in Steel and Concrete design to current codes
ā ļø Knowledge of CDM and design responsibilities
š§āš¼ Capable of independent and autonomous work during the delivery of packages
š¤ Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, facility and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
š£ļø Able to present information clearly, tailored to a variety of target audiences
š Desirable:
š Working towards Chartered Engineer status
ā¢ļø Experience of Sellafield or broader nuclear industry design
š Interest or experience in Sustainability
