Stress Analysis Engineer

As a Stress Analysis Engineer, you will join the Derby team to support our activities within the aerospace sector. Overview We are seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer to support the analysis and modelling of complex aerospace engineering components within a highly technical environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced rotating equipment and engine systems, contributing to critical engineering assessments, technical reviews, and design validation activities. Key Responsibilities - Perform stress and structural analysis on aerospace components and assemblies. - Conduct engine and rotating equipment modelling activities using industry-standard analysis tools. - Assess component performance under static, dynamic, and impact loading conditions. - Produce technical reports and present findings to engineering stakeholders. - Participate in engineering reviews and provide recommendations to support design decisions. - Ensure analysis activities are completed in accordance with project and industry requirements. Required Skills: - Experience in stress analysis, structural analysis, or impact analysis within an aerospace or automotive environment. - Proficiency with ANSYS for finite element analysis and structural assessments. - Experience using LS-DYNA for explicit dynamics, impact, or non-linear simulations. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings, design data, and technical specifications. - Strong technical reporting and problem-solving skills. - Typically 4-6 years of relevant engineering experience. Required Qualifications: - A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: - Experience with Abaqus. - Knowledge of composite material analysis. - Previous experience analysing rotating equipment, engine components, or similar high-performance systems. Security Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain BPSS clearance.
