Technical Approver - Engineering for Services (EfS)

Join our team as a Technical Approver - Engineering for Services (EfS) and play a key role in assuring the quality, compliance and technical integrity of engineering deliverables within a highly regulated aerospace environment. You will provide independent technical oversight, support engineering governance activities, and help drive right-first-time delivery across complex programmes. Location: Derby (UK) On-site: Hybrid, As required by business needs Seniority: Senior Engineer / Technical Lead Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance. Key Responsibilities - Review and approve technical deliverables prior to release. - Verify technical data, calculations and engineering methodologies. - Ensure verification and validation (V&V) activities are completed in line with defined processes. - Confirm acceptance criteria and evidence requirements have been satisfied. - Identify and escalate technical risks, quality concerns and delivery issues. - Support technical reviews, audits and engineering governance activities. Required Skills - Experience within aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment. - Strong understanding of verification and validation (V&V) principles. - Experience reviewing and approving engineering documentation and technical outputs. - Knowledge of configuration control, engineering governance and quality assurance processes. - Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field, or relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on experience. Desirable Skills - Experience within Engineering for Services (EfS), service engineering or MRO environments. - Experience supporting delegated approval or signatory processes. - Knowledge of airworthiness and safety-critical engineering activities. - Exposure to technical assurance, engineering governance or quality management. - Professional registration or progress towards Chartered Engineer status.
