Could you be the difference in someone's toughest days? We're looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated Inpatient Unit team at Edinburgh Hospice. What you will be doing: As a Healthcare Assistant within our Inpatient Unit at Edinburgh Hospice, you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to people living with a terminal illness. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll begin each shift by receiving a comprehensive handover to ensure seamless, high-quality care for every patient. You'll support patients with personal care, mealtimes and nutritional needs, including assisting with feeding where required, while promoting comfort, dignity and independence at all times. You'll help patients with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and build meaningful relationships with those in your care and the people important to them. You'll also play an important part in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment, adhering to the highest standards of infection prevention and control. Every day, you'll contribute to creating a positive experience for patients and families, ensuring they receive the outstanding care and support they deserve when it matters most. What we’re looking for:   - Minimum of 6 months’ experience delivering care in a health or social care setting - NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this qualification - A nurturing and compassionate approach, with excellent communication skills - The ability to work independently while being an integral part of a multidisciplinary team Please see the full job description click here
