We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Belfast Hospice IPU.
Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will provide personal care, assist with meal delivery, and support patients with dignity and respect. You will also contribute to effective communication with families, including navigating sensitive and emotionally difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism.

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £25, 272 pro rata per annum + enhancements
Contract: Permanent, part-time. 30 hours per week Must be available for day shifts, night shifts and weekends.
Based: Belfast Hospice

What we’re looking for:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. NCFE, BTEC), plus functional skills in numeracy and literacy at Level 2 preferred
- At least 6 months of recent care delivery experience in a health or social care setting preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to hold person-centred, empathetic conversations and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of palliative and end of life care, including holistic care planning and symptom management
- Ability to plan and prioritise care, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate appropriately
