Laboratory Assistant

Working within Eurofins Water hygiene testing laboratory this role will be to support the team with stock maintenance, preparation of media, waste disposal and keeping the laboratory clean and sterilised. This is a fixed term contract ending 28/12/2026. Working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 till 17:00. - To maintain accurate stock control levels and records in line with company minimum stock holding levels. - Identify and make recommendations for improvements in the management of effective stock control. - Picking stock items from stores and updating the company stock records system. - Ensure accurate labelling, storage and disposal of samples takes place. - Monitor laboratory supplies and inventory and restock where required. - Maintenance of high levels of housekeeping within the store’s environments. - Regular manual handling of boxes. - Adapt an aseptic approach to your working environment and ensure cleanliness and hygiene levels remain at a high standard. - Work with the team to ensure that all waste generated is removed from the lab via the correct waste streams and seek ways to reduce our carbon footprint. - Advise Laboratory Manager without delay of any problems affecting operations in the production area of the laboratory - Support with preparation and sterilization of lab consumables and equipment - Undertake any other reasonable task or responsibility requested by a senior manager. - Experience in a fast-paced working environment and working under pressure to meet demand. - Previous laboratory experience desirable but not required as full training provided. - Good computer skills. - Enthusiastic and able to work efficiently. - Strong attention to detail and organisation skills. - Good communication skills and a team player.
