Mechanic

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanic to join us and play a pivotal role in the success of the depot by ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it through the efficient servicing and maintaining a variety of vehicles within the SIXT Van & Truck fleet. As part of our high-performing depot team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles either on site at our Depot in Clydebank or at a customer's location. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT - Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on vans and trucks - Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment - Carry out repairs including brakes, suspension, engine work, steering, exhausts, and transmission - Conduct MOT preparation and post-rental inspections - Ensure all work meets DVSA, manufacturer, and SIXT safety and quality standards - Maintain accurate service and repair records - Communicate vehicle issues and repair timelines with operations and fleet teams - Adhere to workshop safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly workspace - Support in breakdown recovery or mobile servicing when required - Use OEM or approved replacement parts in line with warranty and lease agreements - Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies YOUR SKILLS MATTER - Adaptability: You excel in a dynamic environment and can work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team - Attention to Detail: You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate completion of all handover paperwork and vehicle inspections - Communication: You have strong communication skills, enabling clear and friendly interactions with customers, even in busy settings - Flexibility: You are open to work on a shift rotation to cover branch operating hours, ensuring continuous service - Driving License: You hold a valid driving license and bring a minimum of 12 months driving experience - Proven experience working as a mechanic/in a field-based role with a relevant mechanical qualification or time served is essential - Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills and familiarity with vehicle diagnostic tools and workshop equipment - Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe workshop practices WHAT WE OFFER - Competitive Compensation & Financial Security: Receive an attractive annual salary and a performance-based bonus.
