We are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to support the delivery of complex and high-value projects within the Nuclear and Energy sectors. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate cost control, forecasting, and reporting across defined project scopes, working closely with Project Controls Managers, planners, commercial teams, and Work Package Managers. - Location: Bridgewater (Somerset) - On Site: 3-4 Days - Clearance: BPSS - Experience Level: 4- 10YOE Key Responsibilities: - Maintain and update project budgets, forecasts, and commitments - Track and validate actual costs, accruals, and variances - Support change control processes and assess cost impacts - Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, and sponsor reporting - Collaborate with Work Package Managers to compile Monthly Project Reviews (MPRs) - Provide analysis to support KPIs, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement - Contribute to the development and enhancement of cost systems, tools, and processes - Engage proactively with stakeholders to ensure cost data integrity and alignment with schedules Required Skills: - 4–10 years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or a related discipline - Proven knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and change management - Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and data analysis tools - Experience in large, complex projects ideally within infrastructure, energy, or nuclear sectors - Familiarity with ERP/project controls software (e.g., SAP, EcoSys, Primavera) - Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Required Qualifications: - A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Project Management, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: - Experience with NEC contracts (Option C) and associated reporting - Knowledge of commercial processes (NEC/FIDIC) - Formal training in cost control, estimating, or forecasting - Progress toward professional accreditation (RICS, APM, CICES, PMI, or similar)
